South Side!

If you are a first time home buyer and you live somewhere that gets snowstorms, here's a great tip: Buy a home that faces South. The first picture is of my neighbor's house directly across the street. They always have to shovel their driveway when it snows or else it turns into an icy mess. The second picture is of my yard. We usually do not have to shovel the driveway because the sun just melts it away! It's pretty sweet!

Busted at Blockbuster

Well, yesterday Sam had Parker at Blockbuster Video looking for something to rent. Parker fell down and bit into his lip. Sam hurried out of the store with a bloody Parker in tow and left a little present for Blockbuster: a bloody hand print on the door.

Here is a picture of Parker's lip. Poor buddy!

Clean Fridge!

So I just emptied my fridge and wiped down all the shelves and threw out some pretty gross things. Once I put everything back, I realized something. I buy entirely too many drinks and not enough food! So, will each of you please open your fridge and let me know your top 5 food items that you buy? I need some ideas!

Helicopters Sound Like...

Apparently, to make a great helicopter noise, you have to stick your tongue out and blow a really loud razzberry. Carson thought it was so cool he stood in front of my mirror closet doors and did this for about 1/2 hour. When I walked in the room I saw the mess it made on my doors. So, I handed Carson the Windex and a rag and he has been cleaning my closet doors for about 1/2 hour! In the background, Parker is oblivious to his surroundings because he's watching Sponge Bob Square Pants!

The New Do

Okay, here are a few pictures of my new hair cut and color. I had to take them myself so sorry if they look a bit lame.

Frankly Speaking

Today I attended the funeral of a wonderful person. His name was Frank Newman. He was my sister-in-law's ex father-in-law. It was pretty humbling because last Saturday he ordained my nephew a Deacon, and then 4 days later he passed away. I left his funeral wanting to be a better person. In his whole life, he only borrowed money one time: $500 from his sister. Everything else was paid with cash. He was really hard working and motivated. I wonder how I can teach my kids the value of hard work...

On a lighter note, I chopped my hair tonight. The back isn't even an inch long. I love it. I also colored it so now I don't have to listen to people's "gray hair" comments. Phew!

Here is a picture of Carson sitting by "Douglas Fir". He is so scared of this tree. It's motion sensitive so when you walk past him, his eyes light up green and he talks and sings super loud. Carson is being so brave! Look at his hands all clasped together. Pretty funny.

Here we go

After reading my brother's Blog all the time I decided I would try it out as well. I'm not as adventurous as he is, but that is why my Blog is called day to day life. We'll see how it goes...

With the winter Olympics upon us, I thought it appropriate to dust off this picture. This is my son Carson when he was about 18 months old. I have a good friend who is a graphics artist so she made this for me in honor of the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002.
