Total Eclipse Of The Heart

I love that song!

Anyway, last night there was a full lunar eclipse. I knew about it, but didn't plan on getting up in the middle of the night to see it. That's what the internet is for I figured! Well, nature called at 3:15am so I figured as long as I was up I'd go check it out. It was really cool. So I decided to go wake Sam so he could see it as well. We sat on the front steps for awhile watching it. Here is one of the first pictures I took:

As amazing as the eclipse was, guess what was even more amazing? I think my kids have a built in alarm that says "mom and dad have left the building!" because pretty soon Parker joined us on the steps. A few minutes later, here comes Carson. Here it is, 3:30am and all four of us were outside looking at the moon. So strange!

Here is another shot around 3:45am. It was cool because the moon had a reddish glow:

Here is what the moon looked like around 4:00am. This was as long as I made it. I was cold and ready to go back to bed!

Unfortunately for Sam, he was never able to go back to sleep so he went to work instead! He is crazy like that. :)

On an unrelated story:
Carson has to hide one of his cars from Parker because Parker always cries until he gets to hold it. For some reason, Carson started using the freezer as his hiding place--again, it makes perfect sense to Carson!
Sam had the great idea to freeze the car in water. Today Carson came home from school and opened the freezer to play with the car. He was so confused at first then he just laughed his guts out! Here are some pics of it:

Good Things Utah

This morning I went to the set of Good Things Utah and got to be part of the studio audience. It was really fun! I'm happy to report that I didn't puke while I was there which was excellent for those I was with!

Here is Fern and I waiting for the show to start:

Here is Fontella, the birthday girl, with the cast of the show:

Here's the group of us with the cast-Fern, Rose, Fontella, me, Belva, and Audrey. Audrey is 8 months pregnant (lucky girl!).

As we were leaving we ran into Doug, Ellen, and Wiley Coyote and they were gracious enough to take pictures with us!

Sam set the TIVO to record the show this morning. I just watched it and my only camera time was just after the 1st commercial break, the camera panned over the entire Sweet crew. I had a very polite smile and was clapping enthusiastically. Too bad my face was all shiny!!!

Fern had a great idea, she said going to this show would be a fun Enrichment activity! I totally agree! All you have to do is email the show and let them know when you want to come. They will reserve your seats, and it's free! Something to consider...

Empty Promises...

I think I mentioned in my last post that I was going to try and be better at posting more often....well THAT was an empty promise!

So, let me think about what I did last week....oh yeah, I don't do anything lately because I'm too sickly. I think Sam is getting bored so if anybody does anything fun, will you please invite my husband?? Thanks!!

I did finally see the Transformers movie with Sam, Curtis, and Shandy. That was, surprisingly, a really good movie!

Today is my mother-in-law's 72nd birthday. Happy Birthday Fontella! In her honor we held a BBQ at James' house. As soon as everybody got there the clouds parted and DOWN came the RAIN. It was awesome!! It doesn't stop the Sweet's from enjoying it anyway. We had moments of sun so it's all good.

Here is a nice shot of a few of the Sweet cars and the rain:

Here is a shot of Parker stealing Fern's Diet Coke...and I wonder why Parker gets crazy when he's around Fern! j/k!

We didn't really get a picture of the birthday gal, Oops. I'll get one tomorrow because a bunch of us Sweet Girls are going to be in the studio audience of "Good Things Utah" on channel 4 at 10:00am. How fun for us! I don't know much about this show but hopefully it's like Oprah's "favorite things" and we all get to go home with jewelry or an ipod or something like that! Heck, I'll be happy with some popcorn, or maybe a nice cold beverage. Once we are seated, nobody is allowed to get up and leave until the show is over. So I'm slightly nervous because what if I need to hurl? Hmmmm, pray for me!

Because I don't have anything really fun to talk about I'll tell you a joke that my good friend Traci Bateman sent me:

WHY YOU NEVER QUESTION A DRUNK.
I was shopping at the local supermarket where I selected:
A half-gallon of 2% milk,
A carton of eggs,
A quart of orange juice,
A head of romaine lettuce,
A 2 lb. can of coffee, and
A 1 lb. package of bacon.

As I was unloading my items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk
standing behind me watched as I placed the items in front of the cashier.

While the cashier was ringing up the purchases, the drunk calmly
stated, "You must be single."

I was a bit startled by this proclamation, but I was intrigued by the
derelict's intuition, since I was indeed single. I looked at the six
items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about my
selections that could have tipped off the drunk to my marital status.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I said: "Well, you know what,
you're absolutely right. But how on earth did you know that?"

The drunk replied,
"... 'cause you're ugly".

Ha HA Ha! I love that story.................

Lots of Stuff

Aaron and Danielle Anderson (Fern's son) got married on August 10th. Aren't they cute?

Fern's 2 out of 3 children were married this year. Let's hope she gets a long break from planning weddings since Melissa is only a Senior in High School! Everything was perfect from the wedding breakfast, to the wedding, to the reception. Good job Fern!!!

The kids had a blast dancing until WAY past their bedtime so they were happy! Here is Parker and his Uncle James (Sam's brother), I think this picture is adorable.

In true form for the Anderson family, the bride and groom drove away from the reception on Fern's new BMW motorcycle!

From that zoo onto another....

My company summer party was at Hogle Zoo this year. Our summer parties are always eventful and very worthwhile. Each year they have amazing prize drawings, this year some of the items included hotel stays, $75 gas cards, a set of Callaway golf clubs, a Nintendo Wii....and I actually won something this year! I won 2 movies: The Truman Show and The Cable Guy. Not as exciting as a Wii or a gas card, but out of 650 people I won something so that's cool. :)

Here is Carson acting like an animal at the zoo. I have no idea what kind of animal, it's hard to know what goes on in his mind but I know it makes perfect sense to him!

The zoo put on a bird show for our company. At one point they asked for a volunteer with a $5 bill. I happen to have a $5 bill so I raised my hand. I held out my hand, holding the money, and a huge raven landed on my arm and took the cash. Then after a few laughs at my expense (big surprise), the bird flew back onto my arm and gave me my money back. It was really fun!

Then we rode the train at the zoo. Excuse the greasy faces, it was like 100 degrees...

Parker loved the train ride so much he still talks about it every day. This picture makes me laugh so hard, check out his face! What a nut!!!

Tonight we had the Jackson Family Reunion, which is Sam's big ol' extended family. It's hard enough for me to keep Sam's immediate family straight, let alone all his cousins and 2nd cousins, but they are always incredibly nice and friendly (even if I can't remember their names!). The kids had fun and ate lots so life is good!

So that's part of what I've been up to this past week. I'll try to be better at regular updates, I spend most of my time these days laying down and trying not to hurl so be patient with me! By the way, my due date is March 17th, St. Patrick's day! Thanks for all of your supportive comments on my last blog post. We are very excited about expanding our family!!

Sweet Family Campout

The Sweet family campout was last weekend. Unfortunately, I was unable to go (I wasn't feeling very good) because..........

So anyway, here are some sweet shots of the campout at Bear Lake that Sam took:

I was really bummed I missed the campout because I always have so much fun with the Sweet's. Maybe next year.....

Anniversary #9!!

Today marks the 9th year I have been married to Sam-I-Am. So basically, I'm the luckiest chick on the planet! I'm seriously amazed that it has already been 9 years, time flies when you're having fun!

For our anniversary we decided to buy a sweet Eddie Bauer Cabin Tent that was on sale at Target. It sleeps 9, but that just means it really sleeps 5 because we bring a lot of comfort equipment when we camp (I'm no dummy!).

My parents watched the boys tonight so we decided to set the tent up at their house. Here is the end result, it's perfect because now we can change our clothes standing up which is a huge bonus!!

The kids absolutely loved it too! In fact, Parker cried pathetically when we took the tent down! Now we need to go camping real soon. :)

Happy Anniversary Sam, I love you!!

Stop the presses: I just got home from my parent's house. Tonight my mom did some visiting teaching so my dad had the joy of watching my kids by himself. Apparently Parker did some big business in his diaper and my dad got to change it. Just so you realize how HUGE this is, he hasn't changed a diaper since Curtis was a baby, seriously. I decided to check out my dad's work and this is what I saw:

He had put it on backwards! I guess after he changed the diaper he asked Parker how it felt. Parker said "Good!" and that was that. Way to go dad! I'm just proud of you for changing it and not letting him sit around in it....

By the way, my dad already put a comment on this posting before I had a chance to explain the diaper story. At least our stories coincide so you know I'm not lying!!
