I really like the Discovery Channel show called "Dirty Jobs". In fact, I TIVO it so there is always plenty of "Dirty Jobs" to watch. Well, Carson has taken a liking to the show too because they always show disgusting things, which 6 year old boys LOVE!
BUTT....
I forgot something about that show: Mike Rowe, the host, uses lots of words that are acceptable for cable TV, but not necessarily for my children's ears!
So, here's what happened: I watched Parker as he snuck up behind Carson today and then he totally screamed "BOOOO!!!" Carson jumped a few feet into the air, spun around, and yelled: "PARKER! YOU SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!"
Unfortunately, he used it so well and in such great context, that I just went into another room and laughed! Later, I acted like a parent and told him not to say that anymore or I'd knock his block off... :)

Oh, Carrie, it always comes back to bite 'ya!!! Now you'll hear Parker saying it next. Isn't parenting the best...
Michael laughed pretty hard at that one. Courtney did the same thing at a Ward Daddy Daughter Camp Out when she was about 4 yrs old. The zipper was stuck on the tent and she said... "Daddy I can't get this damn thing undone!" Michael just about died!
At least he heard it from the tv and not one if us..
When Kris was young we were sitting at the dinner table and Kris very innocently asks "Mom and Dad, is F--- a bad word?"
That's when you say, "OK dear, you take this one!"
Uncle Phil
No fair! Carson didn't even say it in public. But I am sure your time is coming...Thanks for the laugh..by the way. Caleb LOVES that show, too!
that is sooo funny! i would have loved to see parker scare carson! i am not so sure that carson learned it from the tv....
HAHAHA!!! I can soooo see Carson saying that!!! As I read it, I heard it in his own little voice. LOL!!!
We've had a few mishaps too. Tanner said G*D not too long ago and I "in shock" asked where he'd heard that....AHHH, Disney's Haunted Mansion...gotta love it! Oh well, Now I'm going to try to scare him at church...hehehe! just kidding.

Reese was about 4 when he learned that difference between the "good" dam and the "bad" damn (in singing class they learned the 3 little fishes who swam and swam back over the dam). So one day the neighbor boy spilled him milk and Reese said, "Good damn you Carson!!!"
I've gotten so many laughes out of just this one post...and all the comments! We are also fans of Dirty Jobs, but only on days when my gag reflexes are under control.
Just so you know - I got my mouth washed out with soap for saying HELL. And even worse...I was 15 years old! Now, who the hell washes out their kids mouths at age 15?!?!
Natalie,
The person who washes your mouth out at age 15 is probably the same person who would only let you wear white bras and panties! Ha Ha Ha, I can't believe some of the stuff I remember from the good ol' college days!
He most likely could have learned it from Kindergarten! You would be surprised at the language you hear at school.
Hell is a pretty bad word, but almost as shocking as hearing Carson use the word is the way you spell but(t). Mom wouldn't let us use that word when we were younger either.
...I was just waiting for someone to comment on the but(t)spelling. At least we can now say "pregnant," when I was growing up that was a no-no! Of course, now one of my kids will comment on "cramps..."
Pat is so right--I remember asking Mom if somebody in our ward was "expecting" (you couldn't say pregnant remember) again and she tersely said, "I do not ask that kind of question!!!!" How different that was from sitting in one of my team meetings as a manager at ATT Wireless and having one of the guys say he and his wife were pregnant again because his wife's coil (sp?) had failed. He started explaining it all and I held up my crossed fingers and yelled "TMI! I really don't need to know this!!" Of couse all the 30 somethings on my team thought that was pretty funny!
I LOVE THAT SHOW DIRTY JOBS. LAST TIME MY DAD WAS DOWN HE HADNT SEEN IT AND I MADE HIM WATCH IT. HE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED.
