1st Day of Kindergarten

Carson started Kindergarten today! Ya-hoo! All I've been hearing for a month is "Mom! Does school start today??" I was so glad to finally answer him "yes" today. He looked so handsome, don't you think? I was impressed because as he walked into school he didn't even glance back at me, he was definitely ready!

Here is Carson at home, right before we left for his school

This is Carson and his friend Lee. Lee lives right across the street from us and they ended up in the same class, so he already has a buddy!

My nieces Melissa and Sydney came with me to drop Carson off. They were keeping Parker happy so I could hang out with Carson. Cuties!

Good luck Carson. Enjoy it while it lasts because it doesn't get any easier.

I don't want Carson to grow up, but as my mother would say, "I'm so proud of him!" He truly is one handsome dude!

Congratulations to Carson! It's pretty bittersweet for Mom, though, right?

It doesn't seem like it's time for school to start yet. Good luck, Carson!

We have year-round school in West Jordan, so that is why he started so early. I wasn't sad at all, I was really excited for him-I just hope I can keep his enthusiasm going for the whole year.

Fern: I think Carrie is a lot like her mom...for some reason I was a bit more teary about Carson going to school than my own...hmmm, I'm sure some psychologist would have a good time with that one!

Carrie, did you shed big crocodile tears? When the new year starts, I always have Mom's cry when they leave their precious cargo with me. Congratulations, Carson. Too bad you don't live in Fayette and you could be in my class!

Who is his teacher??

Carrie said...

Delene, his teacher is Mr. Mednick. I just realized that I don't know his first name! That's because teachers don't really have first names...do they?

He's pretty much a granola-head-tree-hugger, but Carson really enjoys his class.

Oh I love that pic of carson on his 1st day. That is really crazy that he is in school.

Teachers sometimes don't even have last names! It's just "Teacher"!
