More Cameron

Newborns change so much so here are some more shots of the day:

Here is Cameron's cousin Dexter giving him a kiss. One day Curtis and Shandy are going to have to teach him to kiss with his mouth closed or they are sure going to have some awkward moments! ha ha!

Here is Granpa Clark after feeding Cameron. Doesn't he look so manly with that burp cloth on his shoulder??

Here is bath time today. If Cameron could talk he would say "oh for the LOVE! I am sick and tired of this routine. I am freezing and have absolutely no dignity. Just get this over with PA-LEASE!"

Then Carson took the camera and got some funny pictures of Cameron getting his bath.

And finally here he is after being bathed and fed. Phew!!!

The Past Few Days

The past few days have been so much fun with Sam being home and getting to know Cameron and his personality. I have loved every minute of it. We've had some fun visitors and we welcome more so don't be shy!

Fern came over and gave Carson and Parker rides on her motorcycle. It goes without saying, but that was definitely the highlight of their day!!

Cameron has changed so much the past few days. He is such a mellow child and we are crossing our fingers that he stays that way!

We were wondering who he looks like and so tonight Sam looked up pictures of Parker when he was 3 days old and we were stunned. They look really similar! I will be honest and say I didn't think Parker was totally cute when he was a newborn and I was so relieved because after a few weeks he totally got cute. I think Cameron is cute now so it will be fun to see what he looks like in a few weeks. Check it out.

Today is Sam's 32nd birthday, Happy Birthday SAM!!!!!!!!

Hey, no wiseCRACKS about Sam's age! :)

I made some yummy brownies for Sam's birthday cake. They have Oreo cookies in the brownie batter, frosting on top, with more Oreo's on top of that. Oh yeah, you can't go wrong there!

My dad has been on a business trip since Sunday so he hadn't met Cameron. Tonight his airplane landed at 9:30 and by 10:30 he was at my house holding Cameron. Here is the happy meeting. Precious!

One last story:
Today the kids were playing outside and Parker comes running up to the door and yells to me "Carson needs you!" I go scurrying outside, around to the West side of my house, and I see Carson in the neighbors tree! I holler "Are you stuck?" He yells "No, I just need you to take a picture!" DUH! So here he is....and then I gave him a lecture of "climb your own trees, not the neighbors!"

More Cameron

24 hours in a hospital is plenty enough for me. I'm home now and welcome visitors so come play!

Here are some more shots of Cameron from the past 24 hours:

Cute picture of Shandy and Cameron

Here are Nalani and I with our babies (Cameron and Cash), who were born 10 days apart. This picture is truly worth a thousand words to me. First of all, I look tired and I think I'm pretty brave to post this for ya'll to see! Second of all, doesn't Nalani look AMAZING! Post pregnancy is good for her! Third of all, Cash totally CRACKS me up in this picture! He looks like a little sumo wrestler! So dang cute.

A common question the past day and half has been "what were Carson and Parker's reaction to Cameron?" This picture says it ALL! So funny! I'm learning that as long as I involve Parker (letting him feed Cameron, throwing diapers away...) he does better with Cameron.

See what I mean?

Here is Cameron this morning, all stretched out in his 21.5 inch glory! It looks like I'm trying to feed him through his upper gums...I'm pretty tired I guess. :)

We got home this afternoon around 4:45. Here's mom and Cameron:

And finally, just because I think it's a cute picture...

Happy Birthday Cameron!

The day has finally arrived and I couldn't be happier! Cameron Carl Sweet arrived today at 2:53pm weighing in at 8 pounds 3 ounces and he was 21 1/2 inches long. According to everybody's guesses, Missy and Cathy were the winners. What do you want as a prize gals? :)

Here are some shots from the day:

Induction has begun!

Without discussing too many details over the web, this baby was not that easy to deliver. At one point I wondered if I was going to be able to seal the deal! I'm so thankful he is here and he is so cute! Here is my nurse, Elizabeth; my doctor, Dr Laine; Cameron, me, and Sam.

Lucky for me, I got to watch my mom, Fern, and Fontella change Cameron's first ga-nasty diaper. It was actually pretty funny to witness.

Here is Sam giving Cameron his first bath:

As many of you know, Sam purchases for Life Flight. They gave Cameron this cute little shirt:

Welcome aboard Cameron...

...and just so everyone knows what new babies REALLY look like...

Eventful 24 Hours

These past 24 hours have been quite eventful for the Sweet household. No, the baby hasn't arrived yet, but check out what we've done:

Sam's birthday is on the 12th and I was feeling kind of bad because I knew the birth of the baby might overshadow his birthday a little bit. As luck would have it, our Federal Tax return showed it's pretty face in our bank account on Friday. I said to Sam "Happy Birthday, go find yourself a plasma TV!" The look on Sam's face was priceless. If any of you know Sam, he's been BEGGING for a plasma for about 2 years! Here is Curtis and my dad opening the box...

And here is the proud father, er, I mean, owner of the new TV. Congratulations and Happy Birthday Sam!!

Not to be outdone, I asked for a piece of technology equipment myself:

Our home computer is on it's last leg and we've wanted a laptop for awhile so we finally made it happen! Conveniently enough, the hospital has a WI/FI connection so if all goes well, I can update my blog from my room tomorrow and show ya'll pics of the new bambino!

Speaking of the new bambino, here is my 9-month pregnancy belly, fully covered of course!!!

Last night Curtis, Shandy, Dexter, and my parents came and hung out with us which was a blast. I love hanging with my fam! Here is a cute shot of Dexter, Parker, and Carson...the cousins. They played very well together and I think Curtis and Shandy learned the appreciation of having older siblings who will play with the younger ones. :)

And finally, Sam and I realize that we have a crazy color obsession... Lately everything we buy seems to be orange/gray/black. Sam even went to Park City a few weeks ago and found a screaming deal on sweatshirt hoodies for the boys...and one was orange and one was gray! Of course, the stroller/car seat combo is complimentary to this color scheme as well. So, enjoy this little collage we put together, just for your viewing enjoyment.

Okay, well, I'm set to be induced tomorrow morning at 7:30am. Unless a truckload of pregnant ladies show up at the hospital tonight, all in labor, then that time should be set in stone for me. Wish me luck!!!

Raspberry Obsession

Many of you may know this about me, but I can't resist anything that is raspberry flavored/filled/frozen or whatever! If it resembles a raspberry flavor, then I'm obsessed with it.

Today I was at Target and I walked past a package of Pepperidge Farm cookies. Normally this wouldn't entice me in the least but then I noticed the picture of the raspberry on the package.

Well dang, now I HAVE to buy it! Curses!!

I wasn't disappointed. They are chewy and so deliciously tart with the raspberry flavor! I won't tell you how many I've eaten (5) but just take my word for it, I think I gained a pound today. Good thing I can blame it on the pregnancy. Phew!!

Cash Jed Baadsgaard

I know a lot of people have posted about Nalani's baby but I just had to share the pictures we took of him at the hospital!

Cash was born on February 28th and he is adorable!!! Check out this cutie (and Cash isn't so bad himself!). By the way, I don't know why Carson insisted on wearing fish stickers on his forehead so don't ask. He got really mad when Sam tried taking them off. Kids teach me to go with the flow.

Here is Cash and me. Yes, I know my face looks swollen and tired....because it is. Yes I know I have roots to boot, but not anymore. My good buddy Kirsten colored my hair this week so now I'll look age-appropriate to have a baby instead of a freak lady who is in her sixties who has no business being 9 months prego!

Congrats to Nalani and Jed. I wish so bad that I could just hang out with you guys this week! Unfortunately I don't dare venture too far from home seeing as how I'm a water balloon filled past it's capacity AND a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. :) I love you guys!!

Take A Guess

Okay, I want everybody to guess the weight and length of baby Sweet who will arrive any day now. The winner will get to be smug and smart and they may even get a special surprise from me!

Only 10 More Days To Go

I had my doctor appointment today. I'm dilated to a 3 so that's good...

I'm 38 weeks but my doctor said my uterus is measuring full term so I really could go into labor at any time. I just think that was her way of telling me I'm getting pretty fat! ha ha ha!

No matter what happens, at least I know I won't go past March 9th because my induction has already been scheduled for that day at 7:30am! Phew!!!

5 New Posts!

Check out my blog below for 5 new postings I just did. Sorry I'm such a blog slacker these days!

Pregnancy update: I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. Last week I was dilated to a 2+ but not effacing. Let's hope for some improvement tomorrow.

Stay tuned!

Side note: I have some amazing friends!! The past few weeks have been kind of rough because Parker has been under the weather and he's been extremely grumpy. My friends Natalie and Amy called this morning and asked if they could take Parker to the zoo, and I gladly obliged! They picked Parker up at 10am and brought him home at 3pm. I had lots of quiet time and it was the perfect remedy. Thank you so much Amy and Natalie, you will never quite understand how badly I needed that break!

Volcano Of Goodness

My friend Cathy Gilmore and I are working on a project, which includes baking over 100 cookies. Sam was begging me for some of those cookies tonight and I just had to keep telling him to "stop asking because the answer will still be "no"!"

Lucky for him, I had a little chocolate cookie dough left over so we wrapped the dough around some marshmallows and baked some cookies just for him. The marshmallows oozed out during the baking process and when Sam saw what they looked like he said "Oh, it's like a volcano of sweet goodness just for me!"

It's the simple things in life that excite Sam, that is one of the many reasons why I love him so much! Enjoy your volcanoes of goodness babe!

Ding Dong One Fish Is Dead

If you remember, after my nephew Aaron got married last August, Fern gave us 2 goldfish, which were part of the wedding decorations. Carson loved "no name" and "grandma" and excitedly had to show all his friends who came over to the house his awesome fish. I, on the other hand, would wake up every day with a little glimmer of hope in my heart, that one would be belly-up. Yes, I'm a mean mother, get over it.

Well, Sunday night after Shandy's birthday dinner, I found "no name" like this: (not for the fish-lover or faint of heart)

So long "no name" may you rest in peace in the bowels of my toilet.

The next morning Carson said "Hey, where is no name???" and I had to tell him what happened. For a second he looked like he was going to cry and then he got a funny boy-smile and said "ha ha, he went to the sewer!" And that was the end of that.

Happy Birthday Shandy!

It's been a big birthday week...we celebrated Shandy's birthday on Sunday. I'm really a dork because this is the only picture I have of the birthday girl! DUH!

It is always fun hanging out with the Clark's and Oram's and celebrating Shandy is a great excuse to eat, drink, and be merry! Happy Birthday Shandy, we love you so much and we're so glad you married Curtis!

Of course since there were 3 pregnant people in the same room, we had to get a picture. I'm being induced on March 9th, Nalani is due March 5th, and Kami is due in July. All three of us are having boys and Nalani and I are in a race to see who has their baby first! To be honest, every time I stand up I'm positive my water is going to break due to all the pain and pressure, but it never happens. I think I've pretty much reached the end of my rope with this pregancy. Everything hurts and no matter how hard I try to remain positive I just can't because I'm in so much pain. It will definitely be a happy day on March 9th!!

Curtis and Shandy had borrowed our Bassinet when Dexter was born. They brought it back to us on Sunday night and it was FILLED with fun things for little baby Sweet. I seriously couldn't believe how much stuff Shandy packed into the bassinet! Diapers, wipes, bibs, onesies, bottle brush, baby wash, crib sheets....That was a welcome site because once you have a baby the baby showers go away. :) Thanks you guys!!

Cindy's 50th Birthday Bash

Cindy, my sister-in-law, turned 50 this week so Fern put together a sweet (punny) party for her. Check out the spread of food! I think Fern was cooking/baking/preparing for at least a week. Amazing!!!

Fern always has great last-minute brainstorms and she came up with a doozy for Cindy. Around her living room she did a timeline of Cindy's life. She had pictures all over from various phases of Cindy's 50 years. Then she had a sheet of paper by those pictures for every year that Cindy has been alive and there were facts about Cindy during that year as well as facts about what was going on in the world during that time. It was awesome because it gave all the party go-ers something to look at and laugh at because we found some awesome pictures of Cindy!

Here are few pictures I donated to the cause:

Sorry Fern, I couldn't resist adding this picture. Don't be hatin'

I still hadn't met all of Sam's family when he proposed to me. So there was a big Sweet party at Antelope Island one day and we figured that would be a good thing to attend because then I could meet everyone. Sam was carefully describing all his family members to me to ease my nerves and he described Cindy like this: Carrie, you are really going to like Cindy because she's just like you--loud, bossy, and she enjoys telling people what they need to do! I'm sure Sam meant that in the nicest way of course!!! He was absolutely correct, from the moment I met Cindy she was my buddy and yes, she likes to tell people what they should do and that's just fine by me...it saves me from having to do it!!

Nalani's Yummy Chicken Recipe

Once upon a time Nalani made dinner for our extended family and it was amazing! I quickly obtained the recipe from her, but never made the dinner for my family until last week. My taste buds were not disappointed and neither were Parker's. Parker threw a huge tantrum at the table because the dinner was "gross" and he "hated it" and he "didn't want it". Now, at this point he hadn't even tasted his dinner yet so you can imagine my annoyance. We finally convinced him to take one bite. He literally went from whining and crying as the food went into his mouth, to the happiest angelic child on the face of the planet as he said "Oh, I LIKE this dinner!" If I ever survive Parker's childhood with my sanity intact it will be a miracle.

Here is the recipe:
4-5 chicken breasts pounded fairly flat (I used chicken tenders)
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 cube butter (I didn't say this was a low-fat recipe!)
1/2 cup white cooking wine or apple juice
1 pkg. dry italian dressing mix
1 container onion & chive cream cheese
Angel Hair Pasta or Fettuccini noodles (I prefer the thicker fettuccini)

Place flattened chicken in the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking dish. In saucepan melt everything else (besides noodles) together and blend until smooth--don't boil. Pour over uncooked chicken. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. Serve over cooked pasta.

Seriously, it's good the day you make it and it's good as leftovers too! Yummy!!
